Simon & Garfunkel present their song with these words: “This is about the inability of people to communicate with each other; not particularly internationally but especially emotionally. What you see around you is people who are unable to love each other. This is called the Sounds of Silence.”

The Wall consists of silence and hidden silence, or as Simon & Garfunkel sings:

people talking without speaking
people hearing without listening
people writing songs that voices never share
and no one dared
disturb the sound of silence

What We Do

Väggen försvinner / The Wall Disappears shows how it is possible to grasp and dissolve the wall with art. The wall can also be described as a gap in understanding that exists in the Western culture today, and that keeps us away from a real life. By getting different perspectives on the wall, which Väggen försvinner provides, we can eliminate this gap and reach our abitily of real thinking, and therefore our ability to know and to create what we want.
